Reform Guildford: All-Supporter Meeting – Monday 9th June – Doors Open 7:00 PM Event Starts 7:30 PM
Reform-UK Guildford warmly invites all local supporters — whether long-standing members, general supporters, curious newcomers, or just deeply concerned about safeguarding Guildford’s future for the next generation — to join us for our next open meeting as we look ahead to the local elections and beyond.
We’re pleased to welcome Peter Smith, a long-time Guildford resident, former Sales & Marketing Executive, and passionate Reform advocate. Peter will offer some compelling reflections on how well-organised systems — both in nature and society — can inspire the way we shape Reform into a truly effective local movement. His experience as a communicator and community speaker will help us spark ideas about how we structure ourselves for real impact.
This meeting marks a key step in strengthening our local branch and building a credible executive team — one capable of fighting the Local Elections in 2026 and laying strong foundations for the General Election in 2029.
Our main local opposition, the Liberal Democrats, may be ineffective in policy and muddled in their thinking — clinging to the fantasy that renewables alone will deliver cheaper energy while ignoring the real-world consequences: surging costs, industrial decline and economic stagnation. But they are well-funded, highly active and deeply embedded in the community. The public urgently needs to see through the illusion and understand what’s at stake.
That means we must be organised, focused, and ready to challenge them at every level.
