Upcoming Surrey County Council by-election – Guildford South East Division
Following the resignation of Cllr Fiona Davidson, Reform-UK Guildford is proud to announce our candidate, Dale Layman – a Guildford resident for over 30 years with a long and successful career in pharmaceutical sales management. Dale combines professional competence with deep local roots, and he will be a strong voice for the people of Guildford South East.
Reform-UK Guildford’s position is clear: national issues now shape local politics. Surrey County Council has signed binding Net Zero commitments and is pushing ahead with unitary authority reforms that will control transport, housing, climate and public safety.
These are not “local tweaks” — they are national agendas imposed locally and residents feel the impact every day through ever-rising council tax, anti-car measures and wasteful spending. The new unitary authorities will only tighten this grip, affecting how we travel, where homes are built, how businesses operate and how services are delivered.
That is why Reform-UK provides a clear alternative. We are the only party prepared to challenge Net Zero dogma, fight anti-car policies, and cut through bureaucratic waste — standing up for residents where it matters most.
It’s time for a new voice in Guildford — one that restores transparency, accountability and common sense to local government.
